Tracey had no idea how to react to that. The truth hurt yet again. It seemed to have a way of doing that with both of them. "I know what you mean," she replied weakly. She wanted to say sorry. She wanted Heidi to know that she saw how what she did was wrong and how it killed her that she'd hurt Heidi so bad. Of course, she couldn't do that. If she did, it meant she had thrown everything away for nothing. It meant that she'd made the wrong choice.
"Yeah." She chuckled along with Heidi. "At least, that's what the…" She trailed off. She had been about to remark on the announcers, but she wasn't sure she should admit to following it that closely. "…recap in the paper said."
Tracey didn't respond to Heidi's suspension. No good could come of that.
"Are you ever coming out of there?" Tracey asked, not sure if it was a good idea for Heidi to come out. They had managed to fight far less separated by the door.
