Tracey didn’t know how to respond. How could Heidi say that? Wouldn’t she want her to care? From the dark places in her mind came her own voice, She has no reason to think you care after what you did to her. The truth hurt.
“You flaunted,” Tracey shot back. “Not just with me but everyone knew about you enough that Gabrielle had no fear of rejection in trying to seduce you!”
Tracey hung her head. In truth, she really didn’t think that Heidi would do that. It was something that Sara would have done, to be sure, if she wasn’t even more paranoid than Tracey about people finding out about her “deviant behavior”.
As Heidi went to the bathroom, Tracey almost left. She took a few steps towards the elevator but she stopped short. She tapped her fingers on the gate and knew that she should go through, she just couldn’t.
Moving to the bathroom door, Tracey knew what Heidi was doing. She had lived with it so much, seen it so often, she just knew. When she heard her snorting, Tracey’s jaw clenched.
“I haven’t left. But if you do that again, I will. And…you’ll never see me again. Ever.”
