Seeing the bottle of Firewhiskey in Heidi's hand made Tracey's jaw clench. She hated that Heidi was drinking again. It really seemed like such a waste. Though, it was old news. Tracey had read the papers…
She didn't know how to respond to Heidi as she spoke. It was a long time before she could even really register what Heidi was saying. Reaching up, she absently fingered the very necklace Heidi was talking about as a lump rose in her throat. She tucked it back into her robes making sure it was well hidden.
Drawing her wand, Tracey knew that it was dangerous to perform spells under an invisibility cloak but she didn't care. She just couldn't take the drinking, especially after what Heidi had just said. As well, performing magic let her ignore Heidi's words for the moment. Silently, she cast a Levitation Charm with a strong swish that whipped the bottle out of Heidi's hand and sent it to the ground where it broke.
The hand holding her wand smoldered and her fingertips were burned but Tracey didn't care. In a way, the pain was an oddly-pleasant distraction.
