Tracey pressed herself back against the wall and froze. Heidi was no more than a meter away from her and she was looking around. Picking up the abandoned satchel, Tracey wondered what Heidi would do with it. For the moment, she just held it along with her own.
Seeing Heidi remove her sunglasses, Tracey's heart fell to the pit of her stomach. Heidi's eyes were so…dull. They lacked any of the brightness they used to hold. She knew why and it made her sick with grief.
She remained in her place against the wall, fighting off tears, as she watched Heidi casting about. Tracey didn't dare ponder why she was even here looking for her. If it was to yell and scream at her, she didn't want that. If it wasn't…well, she didn't want that either. Or so Tracey tried to convince herself.
