It sounded true, and so tragically romantic, as Sara explained their little world. Why couldn't that have been their reality? It made Tracey angry, surprised by the strength of her emotion. "Yeah," Tracey responded weakly. She felt worn down by that world too. She was thankful that Heidi had been able to show her a new one.
Tracey struggled a little and made a strangled sound against Sara's lips. When Sara tried to push her back against the bed, she knew that there would be no stopping this if her head hit the pillow.
Kissing Sara back, Tracey broke away. "Sara…Sara," she said, trying to get control of herself. She looked at her and tried to find words to express herself. "Something has changed…for both of us."
"You said something you never would have said," Tracey continued. "All this is going to do is push us back. Both of us would have done this in a heartbeat if we were the same people we used to be. But, we aren't, are we?"
