Tracey looked around at Heidi's room and recognized her area immediately. She smiled as she saw the stuffed elk sitting on her bed. "Cedric looks comfy," she observed, trying to be funny but her tone lacked any true mirth.
Seeing the pictures, they made her smile too. Even the picture of Heidi and Ginny didn't really bother her. She felt like she should have been, maybe she would have if she hadn't already been devastated.
"That was…a bit surprising," Tracey admitted.
"Sadly, I know not everyone is going to react that way." A lump rose in her throat as she slumped to sit on the corner of Heidi's bed. "My mother…is going to disown me. I just know it…" she croaked out, fighting off tears again.
