Tracey's heart was hammering as she made her way into the Hufflepuff common room. She had no idea what to expect. Tracey risked a few glances up, though she kept her eyes on her feet most of the time. She saw mostly looks of approval, but she couldn't help but wonder what they were thinking behind those smiles or would be muttering when they left.
The whistle cut through her like a knife. Unlike Heidi, Tracey took it in the worst possible way. She quickened her pace as she went up the stairs. She was shocked when someone stopped to talk to them.
Looking up at Hannah, she hoped that it wasn't too obvious that she had been balling all afternoon. "Tracey," she answered weakly, shaking the other girl's hand. The next part made her giggle in spite of all her fear and anxiety. "Thanks." She smiled genuinely, her eyes welling up again.
"Which room is yours?" Tracey asked, realizing she had never been to Heidi's room before. She smiled weakly over at Heidi, moving closer to her still needing comfort.
