Daphne shrugged. “That’s what my servants are for,” Daphne told Sara, reminded her of her family’s vast wealth. It was true though. Despite their similar wealth, Daphne was far more “proper” in her approach to living her life. Something she wished to point out to Sara.
She looked at Sara skeptically. “I am not sure that I believe that.” She gave Sara what could only be described as a knowing grin. Daphne didn’t comment on her level of class; she had way more than Sara in the minds of anyone that mattered, even despite her obviousness regarding Theo.
Sara’s next comment cut through her Daphne and it even showed for a moment. “Not sure why I would care for your fiancé to notice my dress,” she replied, her tone equally acidic.
Sitting up straighter on the couch, Daphne regarded Sara thankful that she could feel her wand pressing into her back. She really stood no chance against Sara, she’d seen her in defense class, but it felt good that she might be able to sneak in a shot if things looked like they were starting to go bad…
