The words and questions stung, hurting Lisa but she knew the truth behind them as she looked down for a moment. As Gabrielle sat up, she noted that the girl didn't let go of her wrist, but Lisa still tried to keep her fingers in as deep as she could, despite the awkward angle.
"I did think of you, but not as much as I should have, perhaps." she said softly, feeling Gabrielle press against her side. Gabrielle was not demanding, not as much as Fleur anyway, but that still didn't excuse her absence. "No. You didn't do anything, it wasn't you."
Lisa didn't know how to explain it, biting her bottom lip as she remembered case after case and files piled high in her room. She hadn't just taken on helping people, but finding better cures, and medicines, ways to help people. It had been all too addicting, and she couldn't get away. "I was...weak." she said, closing her eyes. "And not thinking straight. I put everything before you, before Ally...and I couldn't stop."
