From where she lay on the bed, Madam Pomfrey had her back to her and Heidi could see Tracey as she was stunned by the nurse's question. The look on her face made Heidi chuckle softly, feeling the pain start to ease.
"Your friend?" Madam Pomfrey asked in visible disbelief. From where she was laying, Heidi frowned at the mention of just "friends", but quickly covered it. "You expect me to believe that?" she scoffed, "You Slytherins, always lying to get out of trouble..."
She turned to Heidi, who looked up to her with a slightly amused face, trying to coax it into a serious one. "What did she do to you, Miss Macavoy?"
Heidi tried not to grin and instead put on a sweet, Hufflepuff smile, "Nothing, Ma'am. She actually is my friend." She tried not to falter on the word "friend". "She was helping me."
Still slightly disbelieving, Pomfrey nodded in acceptance and patted Heidi on the shoulder. "Alright dear. Just keep the pressure off your ribs for a day or two and give the bruises and cuts a couple of weeks to heal before you go back on your broom."
With that, she patted Heidi again nd smiled before turning to Tracey with a warning look, still not trusting her before walking away.
Once she was gone, Heidi turned to Tracey with a huge grin, obviously trying not to laugh, most of the pain gone as long as she left the pressure off the ribs.
"She seems to like you." Heidi teased with a chuckle.
