“Not with me,” Tracey responded evenly. The truth was that Heidi’s charms had made her feel things that she had never felt before. She had never been happier or more comfortable in her own skin. Of course, she wasn’t comfortable enough to tell Heidi that yet, however.
Making a show of examining her legs and hips, Tracey let her hands roam them. Her fingertips ran along the soft skin with a feather-light touch. “Hmmm…” she murmured again. Teasingly, Tracey ghosted over the front of Heidi’s yellow knickers.
“I am a nurse. How could I look after other people’s health if I wasn’t healthy myself?” she asked conversationally. Reaching for a cold press, Tracey let it warm slightly before placing it on Heidi’s head to help soothe any lingering headache.
She continued to baby Heidi for a long time. Her hands lightly massaged muscles that she knew weren’t hurt in the accident. She then removed the ice from Heidi’s ribs and put a hot press in its place.
