Clara let herself be laid down. Gently, she cupped her cheeks and made Sara look at her. She rested her gaze on Sara’s eyes for a long time. “We don’t need to talk more. But, I can tell that this is bothering you.”
“You sat down to talk to me,” Clara continued, seeking to reassure Sara. “We all have our secrets. Now we know one of each other’s; we would rather shag girls than boys. We both have others. Don’t let yours fester inside you or you will find you will not like the result.”
She hadn’t been convinced that Heidi and Tracey were “beneath” Sara. The biggest obstacle to reaching that conclusion was a lack of knowledge and a lack of a frame of reference.
