“It is usually when Malfoy and his ilk are acting beneath their house and status that earns them being slapped down. So, it doesn’t really bother me that it is another house that does it,” Clara responded.
“Oh, yes,” she said, acknowledging her mild misunderstanding of Sara’s point. “That is true. I guess it just means we need to be better at it and smarter. Not difficult to be smarter than a Pureblood boy,” Clara added with an evil grin. There was a certain irony that it was far harder to fool and manipulate wizards that were not entitled Purebloods. Though, that likely was more a reflection of entitlement than lineage.
“Oh? Do you care to expand on that?” Clara asked in a light tone, curious what sneaking about Sara might have done.
“Need?” Clara asked, her eyes narrowing slightly. “Assuming I have something to hide, as we both agreed earlier we all do, why would my confidence in myself affect that?”
