“I certainly think that Blaise can be and he is surly the best of the lot in your year,” Clara responded. “But, he gets dragged down by Draco and his cronies. I think that happens with Theo too a bit.”
Clara was shocked by Sara’s forthright answer. Carefully, she looked around to assure that they were not being observed. “One moment.” Slowly, she stood up and walked back towards Madame Pince’s office. Speaking with her briefly, Clara returned a few minutes later.
Sitting back down, she opened a different book. “Madame Pince allowed us to stay for an hour after curfew.” Clara showed Sara a note. “Perhaps we should study a bit until the library is closed,” she suggested.
Clara played at being nonchalant, but her mind was churning. She was now unable to concentrate on studying or reading and was wondering what exactly Sara might be playing at.
If Sara was attempting to pry into her affairs in an effort that was nefarious, Clara was certain the younger girl would not like the result.
