“I promise,” Tracey responded softly. Smiling, she tried to forget all the bad things about what had happened and tried to concentrate on the good. Sara said Heidi would never love her and that she would never love Heidi. She had been totally wrong. So what else had she been wrong about?
Tracey laughed. “I must look a wreck,” she breathed, her London accent particularly strong in that moment. She wiped at her eyes with the back of her hand and came away with a bit of her eyeliner. “Oh Merlin…” She shook her head, still smiling despite knowing she likely looked like hell warmed over.
