Sara’s words had the desired effect. Tracey felt a chill down her spine. She’d had a lot of time to think back to the girl taking her virginity. Sara had done so callously and for her own selfish purposes. Tracey really wanted to believe that Sara had cared for her, but every shred of evidence seemed to contradict that. Tracey folded her arms in front of herself defensively.
“I didn’t forget,” she responded, trying to keep her voice even and strong.
“So, you’re telling me that you came looking for me?” Tracey looked at Sara skeptically. “Or you just happened to be walking by?” That was even more unlikely. No one came to this section of the dungeon except for Tracey and the house elves.
“It was good,” Tracey admitted sincerely.
“What about yours? Theo put you to sleep again with tales of his great exploits or what daddy did to earn his family a few more Galleons?” Tracey asked with a sickly sweetness. Her nasty side didn’t come out around Heidi, but that didn’t mean that she had lost it. Tracey knew all about Sara’s feelings about her betrothed.
She smiled at Sara as she waited for a reaction to her question.
