Eleanor propped her chin on her hand and listened to the little girl talk. "That's good," she said, nodding. She was happy to know that her father was around. Glancing around she saw a couple of people in line. One bloke, who definitely didn't look like a father and another, older man who looked a little like the young girl. Eleanor smiled and shook her head. "No," she replied, after the long sentence. "I don't think a daddy kiss will make it better. I'll have to ask, though."
She dipped her spoon into her ice cream and took a bite. "I'm Eleanor," she said, introducing herself. She found that if you talked to kids like adults, they responded better. "I think you picked an excellent ice cream flavor and the rainbow sprinkles always look very pretty on top. And they taste even better!"
Glancing up, she was somewhat surprised when the tall, rocker man with black hair came over with chocolate ice cream. "Hi," she said, straightening up. "You must be the daddy cures boo-boos with kisses." It was stupid thing to say and she flushed a little but gave him a bright smile.
