After the debacle in the Auror department, Harry had been given leave by the head of the Department to leave his post. It was clear by the look in those green eyes that having Harry in the department would only cause more problems than it solved. It was a good idea, Harry had to agree, but being dismissed only further drove his anger skyward, helped along by the whispers and stares coming from many of the other Aurors surrounding him. It was like second year all over again and he hated that. He hated it fiercely and Ginny knew that. Despite everything, she continued to walk over him in any manner she pleased and he was finding it more and more difficult to remember that she was part of the family he considered his own. It was more and more difficult to remember that retaliating was not something Molly would approve of. Molly. She was Ginny's one saving grace. Harry would do nothing to hurt the Weasley Matriarch.
As he left his own department, he had little to worry about in regards to people ahead of him, as it seemed no one could get out of his way fast enough. With the sheer amount of anger rolling off of him in waves, it was a wonder things weren't exploding as he passed them. He had learned over the years some tricks to keep his emotions in check and normally he succeeded in keeping a straight face, but this was beyond his ability to control. They'd been through a lot he and Ginny, but even he knew near the end that things were simply not going to work out. He didn't feel about her the way she wanted him too and he wasn't the sort to pretend he did. The breakup was not a surprise. The slap in the face mere hours afterward, however, that was unforgivable. Trust was a big thing to Harry and after everything he'd been through it was not so easily given, and even harder to repair once you'd broken it. Molly had tried. Arthur had tried. Even Ron had tried, but nothing would change his mind on the matter. He'd washed his hands of her and had planned to continue moving forward. Perhaps he should have expected it, but the continuous attempts to draw him back toward acceptance were not something he'd planned for and it fueled Harry's dislike better than anything.
He wasn't entirely sure where he was going, but he knew he needed to get rid of some of this anger. He wasn't particularly pleased about having people around him, what with the way his hand was itching to reach for his wand, but there was little he could do about it. He suddenly found himself glad the Elder's wand was locked safely away deep within Dumbledore's tomb.
