Demi hadn't wanted to leave the flat she shared with her sister today. It wasn't because she had gotten too little sleep - anything more than 7 to 8 hours and she would be a veritable harpy all day - or that she had drank too much the night before and gotten a hangover - not knowing ones alcohol limit and not going over it spoke of ones lack of control over themselves. It was because they had a new member of the family and resident in the flat. A part crup puppy named Jewel. Lexi may not like the name, but Demi sure did. In fact, Demi was going to make a stop at the jewelers and see about getting them to emboss a black leather collar with precious gems. No diamonds, Demi was never a fan of diamonds, but a rainbow assortment of sparkle and color. She was sure it would look fantastic o the little pure black creature.
However, playing with the pup all day was not to be. Instead she had an appointment to keep, so she was forced out of casual clothing and into business attire. She told Lexi where she would be, of course, and said goodbye to the pup, then was on her way out the door.
Borgins & Burke was a well known business of ill repute. However it had its uses, like how with a bit of palm greasing, should certain lost items find their way to the proprietors they would give a heads up. Oh yes, the Pucey's were excellent at their job and were oft used by Merlin's Institute, however Demi liked being overly prepared. It helps catch things that would otherwise fall through the cracks, like with cursed necklace, possibly being the missing necklace from Cleopatra's tomb. If it was, then it would be a nice addition to the Institute.
Upon arrival, Demi settled in for twenty minutes, giving the piece a cursory examination before beginnign the haggling. She was doing this out of her own funds, of course. However, the bonus the Institute would give her would cover the item and then some likely. A price that pleased the both of them, along with gentle nudging that the Ministry might be interested in the earrings on display, as she recognized the maker, who was wanted in a string of murders involving poisoned jewelry, and she was set.
The package was warded properly and shrunk in size before being slipped into the inner pocket of her cloak, which immediately sealed up and would be undetectable unless you knew where it was, and made her way back toward Diagon Alley. She was feeling light and accomplished. A visit to the jewelers, a stop at Lexi's favorite cafe for coffee and muffins, and she would be on her way home for more relaxation. It really was such a perfect day.
