"Yes, I'm new, and I don't blame you for being unsure of that. Your face is all over the school, you know." Danny replied with a bit of a shrug. Peter going missing like that was the main reason that he was S.H.I.E.L.D.'s top suspect for the identity of Spiderman. Between the battle between Spiderman and the Lizard that took place at Midtown and the fact that a Midtown student going missing coincided with a sudden lapse of appearances from Spiderman, the connection did seem obvious. Not that the press really noticed. It wasn't as if Spiderman was the only superhero in the tristate area, after all.
"I intend to do my part for the project, but I have no issue with letting you take charge of it. You aren't so disruptive as the other kids in this class, and many times an empty vessel will be the one to make the loudest noise." He gestured vaguely in the direction of Flash Thompson- who was currently guffawing at a joke his chosen partner made- as he said the last bit. Truth be told, he probably would have asked Peter to be his partner even legitimately for this very reason. Peter gave off an intelligent air, if a bit awkward, and he could certainly appreciate that.
