While most of the manor remained un-decorated (Blaise didn't think the whole place needed to be decked out) he had ensured that the foyer and sitting room were tastefully done. There were gifts under the tree for each of the invitees.
Blaise had ensured that the menu consisted of light snacks and figure foods that were not intended as a meal but for snacking. There were chocolate creme drops, individual mince pies, bowls of Christmas pudding, and decorated biscuits among the sweets along with some plates of diced ham, crackers, and various cheeses. These items would be served once everyone arrived. Other items that were readily available upon the guests arrival were bowls of hard tack candy in various flavors and tea was immediately offered to each guest.
Once he was properly dressed, Blaise did a once through and approved of each thing that had been set. He was slightly nervous seeing as this was the first time he'd put together an event on his own. Daphne had said she would assist, but as luck would have it time had gotten away from him and Blaise had not a chance to get in touch with her. He sincerely hoped that everything he had prepared met with, not just her approval, but the approval of the others as well. |
