Summary: Ken lost a bet to Corrie so has to sing silly songs in Diagon Alley. Corrie has set up a waffle stand to give support (and laugh).
True to his word, Ken managed to lay his hands on a waffle stand. He was smugly mysterious about how, just mentioning 'connections' and ignoring any further questions when he showed up at the Leaky Cauldron at 11.30 on Monday morning.
The songs he'd picked to sing were three silly children's songs about daft dragons and whacky wizards, and one made up one about the recent black-out of technology. However, he had also - just for Corrie - whipped up a waffle song that mainly involved the words 'waffling waffles' and 'scintillating syrup'. As Ken didn't claim to be a decent song writer, just a decent singer, his songs certainly didn't scan that well, or make any sense (but that was sort of the point so that was okay).
A spot was picked in the middle of Diagon Alley and Ken enlarged a crate so he could stand on it with his guitar in hand. The waffle stand set up beside the crate. Already there were a few curious looks as he tuned his guitar and hummed a couple of bars to get in tune. He looked down at Corrie and grinned, not feeling the least bit self-conscious. "Ready?"
