"Also the goblins really, really like gold," Ken said dryly with a wry smile. The goblins' greed was his gain though and kept the magical economy strong so he couldn't be judgmental about it. "But yeah, tomb raider about covers it, although I try not to destroy the history too much - and bring back artifacts that will be of interest to the museum if I can."
He watched her face as she inhaled the scent of the meal and mentally congratulated himself for picking the right thing. It was always obvious when people disliked a dish, as much as they might try to hide it. "Cheers," he said in response to her toast and adding to it with a mischievous grin. "And to new friends with good taste in store bought cakes!"
He took a mouthful of salmon, nodding in satisfaction at the taste and smiling - with closed mouth - at her 'keep' comment. If he hadn't had his mouth full Ken would have made another teasing remark in response.
"Plenty for fun," Ken replied once he'd chased the food down with some wine. "I'd go insane if work was the only thing in my life. I like to keep active, partly for my job and partly because I'm not really cut out to be a slob. Before my accident I was doing a lot of kick-boxing, but I had to stop that when my knee couldn't take the movement. So lately I've been swimming or just doing upper-body boxing. When I'm not being active I'll read mysteries or go flying, or ride my motorcyle. I'm not really into those things," he indicated the computer in the corner of the room. "So I don't tend to spend a lot of time on the internet."
