Summary: They go shopping for a few electronics.
Albus leaned over the railing to stare into the small canal of water that flowed through Camden Lock. He wasn't much for shopping honestly but if there was a place he didn't mind coming to get the job done, this was the place. He just liked the feel of it and you could pretty much find everything there. Vintage items, more recent ones. Stalls put up to serve you the most awkward of goods that no matter how ridiculous they may seem, you couldn't fight the urge to give in just once to try them out. It was a pretty wicked place and he was only talking about the muggle part of it. The wizarding part was just as cool because the wizarding stores and stalls also catered to muggles, they just had different goods, they were neutral business men.
He had slipped out of work early, which was fine. Nothing major was going on. They weren't after any notorious criminal or anything like that so it wasn't that much of a blow for him taking an early day. Although it was rare to get Albus to do so. Yes, Albus went through a slacking period but he began to understand that working basically was your life line and it was very important to never skip it. He rarely took sick days and on days he was sick, he held it in until he got home and could do something about it. So why did he take off work now? Because of Scorpius.
The guy's family, to put it frankly, had him fucked up. He wasn't allowed to be himself. He wasn't allowed to do what interested him or what he already liked out of fear of what it would make their family look like, which just blew his mind. You would think they would be more worried about what disowning a child would make their family look like more than they would worry about what a happy child who did as he pleased would make them look like. Also from what his father told him of Draco Malfoy? He was surprised that Draco would do such things to his own son because from what Albus understood from what Harry told him, Draco heavily resented being molded and forced to do what he didn't want to do. Hated that he was bullied with fear to do what was expected of him. You would think a normal person wouldn't pass it down to their kids but sometimes that was the way things happened and Albus and Scorpius had pretty much been friends from day one and he hated to think Scorpius of ending up in that same position and continuing such a ludicrous pattern when not many thought that highly of you anyway. Suppose it was just an act to keep what friends you do have, as friends.
Taking a few more hits from his cigarette, he flicked it to the side and released the smoke out slowly, pushing himself away from the railing he leaned upon and well, completely walked away from it seeing some people approaching where he was with food with intentions of viewing the water scenery while enjoying their meal, Albus really didn't want to get in the way of that. So he gave up his spot, shoved his hands in his pockets and walked around in a small area, not doing much either physically or verbally to draw attention to himself. Finally when he looked up, he seen a familiar male approaching and he smirked, his feet carrying him to meet Scorpius half way.
Once he met Scorpius, his body turned from where he was facing the opposite direction to the side Scorpius was facing so they could walk side by side. "There's retail stores you can get them at but I know a guy who sells the laptops and phones here for a cheaper price." Albus led the way until they reached a small building and went inside to see the clerk jump up. "Ah my friends, what may I assist you with?" Albus looked around at the muggle electronics.
"None of these." Albus said and since Albus had visited before, the male knew what Albus was talking about so he beckoned the men to follow him in the back where they felt a magical force field of sorts, their bodies were able to penetrate in order to keep muggles out of the room. They were led back to see a long casing of different MagiTech laptops and mobile phones. Albus pointed to one phone "That's the one I have and... it's cheaper now." He turned to the clerk who put on an innocent face and gave a shrug. Toward the back were racks of movies that had been made and players to play them on, televisions to watch them on. There was a lot of things in such a small space.
"You see anything that catches your fancy?" Albus asked Scorpius as he leaned against the casing. "Better yet, have you figured out what to do with your family?"
