WHO: Anyone
WHEN: Sunday
WHERE: Farmer's Market then Flea Market (the one thing I didn't research I don't actually know if big ones occur on Sunday in Portland in this universe they do I am not liable, etc, etc.)
WHAT: Chit Chat & Shopping

At this point Andy has invited idk 3-4 people along with him to the Farmer's Market and Flea Market, along with people he already knows like Angel who go already. So I figured if you would like your character to have either been invited or seen people in the lobby putting on coats (it's not raining or snowing tho and we'll say for ease both are indoors situations..) and heading out they could join in.

I'll put up a header for interactions, I figure we could do quick lil dialogue only stuff unless anybody wants more. And a header for what they bought cause that's funny idk.

Expect usual things at a Farmer's Market, produce, meats, dairy products, fresh noodles, products like candles, soap, etc, food trucks and bakery booths, some local artists. If your character carries onto the flea market they can peruse alone or if they follow along with Andy he's probably giving a bit of a tour with context of like that's a good deal, that's not, that's antique, people love to collect those, etc. Flea market is primarily antique, vintage and used clothes, furniture, media, art, etc.

It is nice to see Andy so animated. Aurelio isn't sure why he's here, but he'd found himself waking earlier than normal and on his feet before he'd really given himself the time or space to question why he was doing what he was doing. It's possible he's a bit hungover, but Aurelio is at least a little hungover most weekends so it's hardly anything out of the ordinary. A large pair of sunglasses cover up the circles around his eyes, and a little triangle of chest peeks out from behind his slightly unzipped parka.

One thing's for damn sure: he's not buying any veggies. "Is this the depraved nonsense that the straights get into on the weekends?"

Andy gives him a look, "Don't take it out on the market that you're hungover. Farmer's markets are very fuckin queer." He taps his elbow lightly, "Come on, I'm craving a cardamom bun."

"I don't know what you're talking about, I'm fresh as a spring daisy," Aurelio says, but his voice is a note deeper than it normally is and the glasses remain on his face. He follows Andy, arms crossed over his chest. Aurelio is tired. He wishes he were back in bed. But also he gets distracted by the occasional brightly decorated table or nice smell that wafts their way.

Andy walks at a casual pace, he's still eying produce, thinking about what he's going to cook for the week, thinking about Aurelio. It's not his job to be nosey but it's hard not to feel a certain fondness for anyone who had been a kid in the complex and he knows it's hardly been pleasant circumstances for Aurelio. Still, hard not to try and take interest without seeming like some asshole.

"What are your plans this week?" he asks lightly.

Aurelio is not a planner, nor does he have a job. He is out and about often, but he does not always know where he's headed when he leaves the apartment. "Probably get into some trouble," he says lightly. Andy's curiosity feels slightly uncomfortable, but Aurelio doesn't mind it enough to complain about it yet.

Andy nods as the walk up to the specific booth in question, there's a couple ahead of them and he reaches to grab his wallet from inside his jacket.

"You play any gigs around town? I heard you playing during the blackout."

"Not yet, no." Aurelio is not good at noticing when he's being taken care of; it's not something he's very used to. But Andy isn't exactly being subtle. "I just like playing."

"Sometimes that's all you need," Andy says with a shrug. He thinks about offering up the open mic locations he's been to but he already feels like the world's oldest punk trying to relate. He has no doubt Aurelio could find a spot if he wanted to play.

As the couple leaves he moves up to the table, "Two cardamom buns," he glances at Aurelio, "You want a coffee?"

Aurelio is not sure how to answer. He wants a coffee, but he also doesn't want to impose. He is a grown up who can get his own coffees and sweet buns. And this whole things makes the sour taste at the back of his throat all the more bitter. "I got it," he blurts after a moment, reaching for his own wallet. He wonders if Andy is pitying him for his dead mother. Or, even, if he was a fan of her in life and that he is somehow doing her the honor-slash-service-slash-whatever-this-is. He likes being the son of a dead woman even less than having been her son while she was alive.

"Is this how you always spend your Sundays?"

Andy could say he knows Aurelio has money, he got a pretty good sense of the family's money from Aurelio's mother. But Andy also has money. They are equally at ease to pay for the coffee. Which means it's silly for Aurelio to pay but also silly for Andy to fight it. So he only orders his own coffee.

"Most Sundays yeah," he says easily, "Sometimes I have a bad week but I like to get out here. Puts me in a better mood."

Aurelio pays, noting with the mildest of annoyances that a cup from Dunkin three times the size of this coffee is cheaper. But he doesn't say this aloud for fear of sounding too petulant. "Wouldn't have pegged you as a farmer's market guy." He sips the coffee, which is fine, he supposes.

"Why not?" Andy asks, light, he's curious. He doesn't actually know what Aurielo thinks of him besides old. He takes the bag of pastries with a thanks to the woman behind the register before heading away from the booth.

"I dunno," Aurelio says quickly, not considering why but knowing that it feels true. Then, he sips and strolls before actually figuring out how to say what comes to mind. "You don't seem crunchy enough. Or married enough." He shrugs.

"Single people have the most time for picking up obscure produce and making elaborate meals," Andy says with a little grandiosity, before laughing. "It's not very crunchy either. You live a place long enough you want to get the good stuff."

"I haven't found that to be the case," Aurelio says. He shrugs and appreciates the warmth of the coffee as it heats his fingers. "Farmers markets seem the place for weird cooks and couples. Granny stuff." A white haired older woman walks past them and he gestures after her. "Like that." He ignores the many youths that pass them by, as they don't help his points.
