Madison could have probably built a computer (he had never tried) if he had been given blueprints. Probably. His powers of course would have come into play there, but he was pretty sure that if he had the resources and the instructions that he could have made a computer. But being able to make one, versus being able to use a computer to its full capabilities was something totally different.
So, when he stayed up late playing on the internet he wasn’t doing high level anything, just checking websites, forums, reddits, and so on. Honestly he had clicked on one link after the other, aware that he had to be a responsible grown up like person and report for work on Monday morning, but just clicking on link after link sort of aware that time was slipping by.
And then he found himself on some corner of the internet that he didn’t normally browse, onto some sort of site that was very . . . anti-mutant. Graphically so. He knew that he shouldn’t click on links, he didn’t need proof that people didn’t like those with an active X-gene, he knew that. But still . . . . he clicked. He lost time (he wasn’t sure how long) reading about how awful mutants were and then – then he read through a several paragraph post about how Xavier’s death was a good thing.
He pushed back from his computer desk, a scowl on his face. He felt. Not good. All the sugar and caffeine that he had consumed to keep him going through this internet binge now seemed to sit heavy in his stomach. He became aware that he now was going to have precious few hours of sleep – if he managed to go to sleep right now – to get him through Monday.
But instead of heading for bed, he created a new email with google, created an account for the forum and decided to write a very thought out response to the post about Xavier’s death and how it wasn’t a good thing at all. (And if he used some gifs in it, whatever. A post could still be well thought out and have gifs.)
