Lily sat back in her seat and tried to take in all that had been said. Her eyes flicked periodically to Aberforth Dumbledore, who was talking in low voices with Moody on the other side of the room. Harry was standing near them, apparently examining a painting, but Lily had a feeling he was eavesdropping. She didn't blame him, but she thought any more talk would drive her mad. A plan of sorts had at last been hammered out, and after twenty years of struggling to survive, the start of a new beginning was near. Lily was no coward, but she couldn't remember ever being this anxious.

Molly eyed herself critically in the mirror. There were times she was able to see the young Prewett girl that she'd been, the one that Arthur had fallen in love with. Other times, all she could see the lines that time, stress, and grief had carved into her face, and the toll having seven children had taken on her body. Arthur didn't seem to mind, but Molly did. He was a good man--the best, really--and she'd been so very lucky he'd looked past her stubborn, occasional hotheaded nature to marry her.

They'd not had the ideal life together in their Burrow with their children, but Molly counted the moments with her Arthur as more precious than pearls.

She smiled at her reflection. Her black pants and emerald green blouse showed off the best of her curves. Satisfied, she ran the brush through her hair one last time, and started downstairs to find Arthur so they could begin their night out.
