"Which treat the symptoms, not the cause," Theodore said, a bit irritably. "Anyway, it's not that simple. And that's not the point."
He would try saying this one more way, and then he would be done. He wasn't getting any discussion, hardly even a response, and it was possible to tell if his request was being taken seriously. He hoped it was; it was intended in all seriousness.
"Look, it's none of my business what you do or who you choose to do it with," he said. "I'd appreciate it if you would do me the courtesy of ensuring that it stayed that way. This is my favourite place in the entire school, I don't want to be worried about coming here in case I'm... interrupting."
"That's all," he finished, feeling suddenly fairly tired from having this talk. "And if you're not going to say anything, then I suppose I'll just get to work."
