To be honest, Vanessa wasn't all that worried about meeting Kevin's dad. If she'd been blue and white-haired, she might have been a little freaked by it --- but, then again, Kevin was naturally white and marshmallowy and his dad apparently hadn't disowned him. But she looked like a totally normal teenaged girl. And, anyway, there was no way she was going to send Kevin out on his own.
Sure, maybe he could heal from just about anything, but how was he supposed to protect himself? And what if the FOH got him? Or if he just vanished without a trace? The fact that he'd been a Hellion and was now training as a Junior X-Man didn't really factor into the equation, not when she figured that she was better equipped, powerwise, to defend them if something bad happened.
"You want me to shift into one of the guys from school? Then you can just tell him I'm your buddy from Xavier's and skip the whole awkward this is the girl I'm---" Vanessa trailed off at that, coughing and shrugging. Uh. What was the correct ending to that sentence? Making out with? Seeing? Dating? To cover up the cough, she quickly added, "Or I can shift to look like Logan. And then he'll be too freaked out to even bother asking."
