Carol did manage to grab Vertigo, and the woman shrieked, slamming her hand into Carol's face to try and deter her, but... really, what could she do against invulnerability if her powers weren't cooperating? For a second she forgot she had her robotic hand. It was a highly expensive little piece of equipment, she was new at using it, and it wasn't as if it was permanently grafted to her body. The bullets had gone flying and so too did the hand, practically shattering as it crumpled and sparked.
"Please---! Please don't---okay.. okay, okay, listen.. you don't want to do this. You... you don't want to throw me off a building, you don't want to do this to me----! I'm just a girl, like you, a super-powered girl who's been experimented on and hurt and betrayed and used by people----I get you, okay? Okay? I understand----" She was scrambling now, struggling, trying to talk her way out of getting thrown off the building and splattering on the pavement below. Her voice was shrieky and high-pitched. "I'm just following orders!"
