Vertigo had quick reflexes and she was glad to have them now, diving and tumbling out of the way. She couldn't be as graceful as she would have liked -- even though Carol missed her, Vertigo went face-first into the pavement of the high-rise rooftop and jammed her shoulder, going head over heels and landing sitting up. Ouch.
Spinning, the side of her face scraped up, she drew the gun from her pocket and delivered a full dose of her dizzying powers. There was something about Carol being... invulnerable.. or... something, wasn't there? She couldn't remember her exact abilities. Shit. She'd just have to make Carol sick until she threw up and dropped unconscious and hoped for the best. Please... please. She couldn't fuck this up.
