Thread: White Queen, Wolverine, Junior X-Men
Who: Emma Frost, Logan, and OT the Junior X-Men Advanced Powers Training (Vanessa Carlysle, Sarena Alexander, Kevin Sydney, Julian Keller, Sofia Montega, Thomas Shepherd, Elyvran, and anyone else)
When: Afternoon, February 19
Where: The Danger Room
What: Restless students lead to poor judgment. Emma has already split them into squads and informed them of their training schedules. Now it's time for a friendly game of capture the flag. . . with an added Wolverine bonus. Just for kicks. (If you don't want to join the thread, your character does not have to. If you're not listed above and want to play, go for it.)
Tapping her manicured fingers against the console, Emma Frost watched the two groups of adolescents in the Danger Room below.
The mission was simple. Two teams. Two flags. The object was to capture your opponent's flag from the opposing flag bearer, while simultaneously protecting your own flag. There were few rules apart from sincerely attempting not to maim your fellow competitors, or your own teammates for that matter. The holographic environmental design was interesting as well. It resembled something out of a video game. The analogy was not one Emma would have been familiar with, given her general disinterest in such things. There was a semi-wooded area with two based structures set far enough apart. The area was big enough to give the two teams a challenge without keeping them separate from one another. Thus far, they had performed adequately, with neither gaining a greater advantage over the other.
Of course, things were rarely simple when groups of teenagers were involved, hence why Emma had opted to use the Danger Room for this scenario. The school scarcely needed any publicity that the flagrant usage of powers outdoors would provide. The exercise may have appeared to possess more qualities of a game but it was more than that. Teamwork was standard, of course. But Emma wanted more than that. Guile. Planning. And execution.
Bringing her steely gaze around from the monitor, Emma leveled those fathomless blue depths upon her companion.
When she spoke, there was a certain drollness in her words. "I would inquire about your opinion, but believe it's obvious enough. Telepathy aside."
And then of course, there was the fact that she hadn't invited him along due solely for his opinion. Rather, she had something else in mind for her ambitious students, upping the stakes in this exercise, one could say. Sometimes you needed to be prepared for any surprise.
