Sitting at his workbench, Neville Longbottom was entranced. His co-worked, Latricia Grange, had just brought back the most interesting sample he had ever seen of basil. It didn't seem to match up any of the properties of any of the other basil he had ever seen. She had smuggled it back from Greece, where it was the latest cure for whatever ails your stomach. “Bloody Brilliant,” he said quietly to himself. He took out some rooting potion, and put a small cutting into it. Hopefully he could get this to grow, and he could do some more research.
Glancing at the clock, he realized that he needed to make a few rounds in the greenhouse and make sure the plants had been watered. Tomorrow they would be transplanting mandrake to new pots. This wasn't his favorite activity, but he knew how important the powdered mandrake root was as an antidote. St Mungos already had two orders in, and he needed to make the deadline. As he was rising from his stool, Latricia flew in.
“Neville! There was an explosion at the ministry!” She said, arms flailing. Neville knew that Latricia was prone to exaggerations
“What happened?” he asked cautiously. He hoped it was an accident. The thought of the Death Eaters rising again left a knot in the pit of his stomach.
“I don't know. That is all I heard.”
Neville looked at her, “Stay here then, “I'm going to take a walk down the street, see what I can find out.”
Neville grabbed his robe and walked calmly out of the shop, heading towards the Daily Prophet offices. He figured he could catch some of the gossip there. As he rounded the corner, he recognized a familiar face. “Hannah?” he called lightly.
