It may come as a bit of a shock to readers of Witch's Weekly, but Oliver Wood was not really as good with the ladies as he'd like to admit. He was pretty good at attracting them, don't get him wrong, but he was not the best at being able to really express himself beyond joking about sex. And he did want to attract one particular witch, though she seemed utterly immune to his charms. It frustrated him to no end. He'd spent so many nights pining for Gwenog Jones, he just knew there HAD to be a way to win her.
There was only one man he knew that was able to successfully woo a beautiful woman far above his league, and that was James Potter. He hadn't really been invited, but he didn't figure James would be one to turn him away if he asked for help. He was in the time of need, after all! He claimed to be a friend to every Gryffindor, and ever member of the British and Irish League, and as he happened to be both, he was certain he could visit him and not be a bother. He just needed to pick his brain a little.
So it was with light heels, though a bit of a confused heart, that Oliver Wendall Woods knocked on the door of the Potter residence in Godric's Hollow. "Hullo, mate. Mind if I pop by for a bit?" he asked as they door opened, plastering a winning smile on his face.
