"Sixteen is pretty old." Janice wrinkled her nose playfully and laughed. "Thanks Mum. I would really feel bad if he thought that." Her brow creased. Uncle Peter was so generous that sometimes it made her feel a little uncomfortable. Which didn't make sense, really, as he was just being nice and a good Uncle. Still, she didn't want him to think that she was deliberately not thanking him for a gift. Whether it made her uncomfortable or not, it was still very kind of him.
Jay tilted her head to the side, listening quietly to her Mum. Smalls made a noise and rolled over on his stomach and she smiled and tickled his ribs gently. "I'll always need you, Mum." Janice leaned back and smiled sweetly up at Alice. "No matter how old I get." With all of them heading off soon, Jay felt like her Mum needed some reassuring. Although she wasn't holding out hope for less of the Hogsmeade visits.
"Responsibility? Respect?" Jay repeated, her eyebrows lifting a little. That sounded ominous. "What kind of responsibility and respect?"
