Alice looked on fondly as Janice played with the kitten that Frank had gotten her for her 16th birthday. It was just like Frank to show her up on the present buying. He was so thoughtful, it was impossible for him to not be good at gift buying. Alice tried, but she was no match. "That's good," she said, taking a second to grab her wand and flick on the wireless. A Weird Sister's song came on, an older one, and she smiled and leaned back into the couch. "If you need any help, just let me know." She knew that Janice probably neither wanted or needed Alice's help, but it was one of her favorite things-packing their trunks. When they weren't looking, Alice always tried to sneak in some treats and a note. She's owl, of course, but having a note and a reminder of home was always nice, wasn't it?
She didn't, however, like thinking about the fact that Nevy was grown and out of Hogwarts. She nodded, reaching a hand to play with her daughter's blonde locks, which were so similar to her own. "Much stranger for me. Everyone will be away from me, even your father. Well, he'll be home at night, but it won't be the same," she sighed. Something triggered and Alice shifted a bit. "Hey Janey, did you get a necklace for your birthday from your Uncle Peter?"
