It was lovely to just lay back on the sand on her towel and watch the waves lap at the shore. Life didn't get much better than this - sand, sun, sea, and her best friend in the world by her side. Ellie turned her head slightly and spoke. "Isn't the water the prettiest shade of blue you've ever seen?"

She'd spent most of the day in the water on and off, but now she was bordering on sleepy. "Remember how I taught you to swim here?" she asked lazily.

( Lily had never meant to let this happen. She had agreed to the date but nowhere in her mind had she thought she would let him kiss her. Or, worse, kiss him first. But that was what she was doing, and she accepted his kiss, parting her own lips to let him in. This was different than any other kisses (though she had, of course, had very few experiences with kissing) she'd had before. She shivered again, and she couldn't tell if it was from the water, the air, or the kiss. Her arms wound up around his neck, her fingers delving into the hair at the back of his head. )
