WHO: Padma Patil and Percy Weasley
WHERE: British Museum of History
WHEN: Monday, April 4, afternoon
WHAT: Their "blind"-date
RATING: G-PG
"Nazi propoganda exalted this type of art during the war. Anything that promoted a return to the simple virtues and the love of homeland," Padma said quietly, staring at the large image before her. It was a handsome, healthy man, simply dressed and lean, standing with his hand on the shoulder of a physically handicapped man. Chiseled and strong, the first man reminded her of a shephard—except the shephard was promoting eugenics. "I will say, they had consistent design. It's visually intriguing if you don't know what it's promoting. They made him purposefully reasurring to the viewer."
The thing was, Padma knew exactly what it was promoting. Below the poster was a translated caption that read: "60,000 Reichsmarks is what this person suffering from a hereditary disease costs the People's community during his lifetime. Comrade, that is your money too. Read 'New People', the monthly magazine of the Bureau for Race Politics of the NSDAP."
Padma turned to Percy for his opinion. The museum exhibit focused on National Socialist propaganda for the period of 1933-1945. Padma let her gaze drift back up to the poster. She was honestly surprised Diggory hadn't turned to this yet—why, he was weeding out the Purebloods, she was surprised he hadn't proposed full on euthanasia.
