Ron moved back to his seat, watching as his friends opened what he'd gotten for them. He laughed at Harry's reaction to his clock, but he couldn't help shifting a little nervously on the couch as he waited for Hermione to open hers. He'd debated for a long time before deciding, even if the actual shopping part hadn't taken so long. He was relieved when she seemed to like it, but her hug caught him by surprise--like she'd crossed some unspoken barrier for a few seconds that he didn't want to end.
And then it did, and he shrugged it off. "Let's see the book, Harry. Could be about Quidditch if Hermione was really in the Christmas spirit." He flashed her a smile, the teasing apparently emboldened by the hug. "If it's got any pictures, I want to borrow it."
