Luag hadn't slept well at all. While he was used to having to sleep in less than ideal locations, worry had kept him up. Worry about what had happened to Katie as well as worry about Nate as the night wore on and on. He had tried to get a message to the other man, which had only gotten him another bruise for his troubles. He had been anxious about the Reserve too, hoping that the lack of two keepers hadn't ruined their day, not to mention the mess he knew he had made of their schedule by ringing the meal bell early.
One of the small joys he took out of the time locked up was the fact that all the Ministry cockboys who had to deal with him also had to deal with the stink of damp sheepskin, dragon snot, and heath mud, not to mention whatever personal smell from being in those clothes for too long a time. While it was a smell any dragon keeper was used to, it was obvious from the looks on the Ministry officials faces that it didn't grace their halls often.
Now that he was home though, all he wanted to do was strip out of his clothes, take a long warm bath, and curl up in bed. He knew he couldn't give himself that luxury yet though. He needed to contact Ruaridh and Nate at least. Find out what happened to Katie... When he stepped out of the Floo at home though, he realized that at least one of those tasks would be easier than anticipated considering the first thing he saw was Nate asleep on one of the couches with Caineal curled up protectively on top of the man.
"Oh bòidhchead," he breathed out softly as he forgot about everything else and headed straight towards the other man. Caineal however didn't think this was a smart idea, as he gave Luag a death glare and growled loudly as he crouched more protectively over Nate.
