Ginny was well aware that she was doing something stupid. It was one thing to be on friendly terms with Blaise Zabini, or even to tease him about an apparently repressed sexual attraction; it was something entirely different to actually go on a date with him. She didn't have any illusions that this wasn't a date. Going out drinking when they were both stressed had not been a date, no matter how oddly it had turned out. Meeting for dinner, particularly after Blaise had unwillingly confessed to finding her attractive as far back as their school days, was definitely a date.
There were a number of reasons why this was a bad idea, not the least of which was the political situation. Hanging out with a Suspected Terrorist wasn't going to do her much good in the eyes of the Ministry, and while that hadn't stopped her from associating with Hermione and Luna, she was pretty sure that even the current Ministry was going to see a difference in a former Death Eater and her friends. Hell, the fact that he was a former Death Eater ought to have been enough to keep her away, even if he had only served a short sentence and didn't seem to have been much involved with it.
But she had to admit she was intrigued by him. She liked matching wits with him; if nothing else, their conversations were never dull. And he was attractive, even if she wasn't going to tell him that. Blaise had enough of an ego as it was. So she'd agreed to dinner, digging out a dress she'd bought once on a whim and had never worn. A pair of heels and a warm pea-coat were all she needed, and at eight, she picked up the portkey, flashing out of her apartment and into the restaurant.
Someone offered to take her coat and she handed it over, still holding onto the bracelet. She gave him Blaise's name, shook out the folds of her dress, and took the chance to look around while waiting.
