WHO: Hermione Granger and the Order/DA
WHEN: Jan 30th, in the evening.
WHERE: The Forbidden Forest
WHAT: A rebel meeting
RATING: TBS
Will you join in our crusade, who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the barricades is there a world you long to see?
The forest was dark, the trees looming out all around the circular clearing that Hagrid had found for her. It was big enough to fit all of them, and had the advantage of a few stumps that were strong and wide enough for the woman to stand on. Hermione herself looked nothing like she usually did. Instead of being slim and bushy haired, she had taken the appearance of her personal secretary at work, Trisha. She was now around her own height, but about a hundred pounds heavier, sporting grayish blond hair, and watery blue eyes. Her robes had been expanded to make room for her new girth, but Hermione was highly uncomfortable as she waited for the last of the group to arrive.
Making that massive amount of polyjuice for everyone had been hard, and she was tired. But she knew who everyone had turned into, and would be able to see who had actually shown up. An owl from Terry had let her know that Mandy was coming for both of them, and she supposed that those with children had so much more to lose; just the same as with the last two wars.
Hermione put her want to her throat, charming her voice to come out loudly enough to silence the group. She cleared her throat, trying to get their attention before she began to speak.
“Thank you for coming,” she said; her voice unmistakable. “I know you all took a risk by being here, and I know that many of you were not expecting the potion. But this is the safest way,” Hermione began, nervously squeezing her wand. “In our last war, the lines were crystal clear for us. We knew who we were fighting against, why, and they made the first violent move against us. It was fighting or death, and war began before we ever stepped foot out of school. This new battle is with someone that would pretend to be our friend, an establishment that should be just and fair. I believe that the ministry is setting itself up to take almost all of our liberties away from us; I believe that they would make us a country totally ruled by a few selected officials who will claim to have been voted in. And I believe that unless we do something about it, they will continue to sell fear until Britain allows them to do it.”
“I also do not think that violence and dueling is going to get us anywhere. The only way to beat Diggory is by getting him out of office, and killing him would only turn him into a martyr. We need to show England through facts and evidence that the current political party in power is one that needs to be taken out of office. We can do this by following Ministry members, inserting our own into their ranks. We need to infiltrate them, and we need to beat them from the inside. It's dangerous. You might be caught, branded. Killed, thrown into prison. If you would rather become a pawn for the ministry than risk that, I suggest you leave now and melt your coins.”
