WHO: Ron Weasley and Seamus Finnigan
WHEN: Monday, 12th September, morning
WHERE: Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Ministry of Magic
WHAT: Ron and Seamus pull a distract-and-sneak mission to find the file on McGonagall
The men's bathroom on Level 2 was pretty swanky considering most of the wizards that worked for the DMLE were rough-and-ready blokes who'd have been fine with a tree or bush or something. Ron lurked beside the marble sinks, pretending he was busy sorting out his hair, but waiting for Seamus to arrive so that they could set the plan in motion.
He glared at the wizard taking his sweet time washing his hands with the array of handwash and lotions available in decorative glass bottles along a shelf above the sinks. "Alright?" he asked tightly.
Ron had already staked out the fileroom. The middle-aged witch that sat on guard, and who could be asked to call up whichever file you needed, was a bit of a stickler for the rules. She hadn't taken to kindly to the suggestion that Ron get any file he wanted if he brought her a chocolate eclair and a smile. But through long enough interactions with the witch, he'd garnered that she took her break around this time of the morning, going all the way down to the Ministry cafeteria rather than the DMLE breakroom. She was only gone for roughly fifteen minutes, and a younger wizard watched the door while she was away. But the younger wizard spent most of his time scribbling in his journal, probably to his friends, and Ron knew he barely kept an eye on the fileroom. If there was some sort of distraction across the department - thank you, Seamus Finnigan - Ron would be able to slip in unnoticed and search for the file they needed.
The wizard who had some sort of fetish for clean hands finally finished up, dumped the hand towel in the basket and made his way out the bathroom, and Ron then, after spelling a small notice to the door stating that the bathroom was 'currently unavailable due to maintenance', waited for Seamus to arrive.
