"You're going to get stuck again, Percy," Oliver said warningly. It felt as if they were having the exact same conversation that they'd had at the beginning of the second war. It was terrifying how similar the situations were, really. He'd just started getting involved with Order work then. It wasn't like he'd ever stopped being friends with Percy, but there were plenty of moments that he'd worried about Percy's judgement.
"You're going to have to chose whether it's better to cast more suspicion on yourself or whether you're going to give up your own morals again," Oliver pressed. That was really the base of the decision. He knew that, undoubtedly, part of the reason that Percy was worried about leaving was the suspicion it would also cast on the Weasley family as a whole. However, he was also more than certain that they would prefer knowing that Percy stood on the same side of him; Oliver only had respect for the Weasley family, but he worried that they wouldn't be able to forgive Percy if a repeat of the second war happened.
"If you wanted to go somewhere else, I could help you for awhile," Oliver offered quietly. He made enough money. He had enough money saved away. He couldn't support two households for the long term, but if Percy wanted to get out of England, and if he did actually cut his ties with the Ministry, Oliver could give him enough to get him started. "But I also think you could try asking for a transfer, try look for something similar now and get out with the least amount of suspicion possible."
