Not only did this restaurant serve good food, the prices were reasonable and, most importantly in Percy's opinion for the moment, it had a full bar. While Oliver sipped his water, Percy was already nursing a cocktail... a mai tai, if you wanted to be specific. It would be the first among many he would consume tonight. When Percy got upset, he lost his appetite, but his drinking was just fine.
It was good to see Oliver, though. These past few days, Percy felt so terribly alone, without anybody to speak to. He was glad Oliver contacted him, because Percy wouldn't have; so fraught with guilt over his participation in the branding that he didn't think he worthy to speak with anybody, especially after receiving a reply to his owl post from Katie. It was a chance to spill his guts, so to speak.
"Oliver? I don't think I would ever say this, but I officially hate my job at the Ministry. Once upon a time, I had this idea that I could change policies, help make things better. But all I ever do is get caught up in politics and..." He cut himself off with a gulp from his glass. "This recent event... you can't believe how many people in the office are in support of it. If you have any qualms, you're ostracized. It was the same way when the Death Eaters were in control, and I'm afraid it's going to get worse."
