WHO: Amos Diggory, Zacharias Smith, and a number of DMLE and MAB officials, as well as the crowd
WHEN: Saturday, 27th August, early afternoon
WHERE: Hogsmeade village
WHAT: Amos Diggory is assassinated
Surrounded by numerous Magical Law Enforcement members and MAB soldiers lining the street before him, Amos Diggory had never felt more secure in his life. His sharply cut dark grey robes draped down from his shoulders, authority emanating from his very presence as he walked along the street through the middle of Hogsmeade village, pausing every so often to shake his supporters' hands, wave to those unfortunate to be stood further back from the magical barrier that separated Diggory and the crowd that had come to see him speak today. He smiled down at a chubby baby, angling his body so that the reporter who loomed next to them could capture the moment, his hand coming up to capture the child's small fist, chuckling as he moved on before the infant began crying. There were a few shouts and calls of dissent as he walked, though they were mostly squashed out by the overwhelming cheers the crowd made, as well as subtle MAB members moving in to quietly remove the protesting members of the audience, Muffliato charms making the processes smooth and mostly unnoticeable. Nearing the raised stage and podium, Diggory tilted his head closer to his Assistant, Zacharias, his eyes on the Aurors that were performing their last security checks and discussing it in their small clusters. "My boy, we've suffered a few knocks recently, but look at our country in effect. Here we have the DMLE working like house-elves to ensure our safety, to ensure the crowd is protected. Our fine newspaper staff at work to bring truth to our citizens," he said, nodding to the line of photographers and reporters to the left of the stage. "Listen to the cheers," he stated with a smile. "You've done well to help organise this event, lad." |
