Rose had her glasses on, reading a small novel that'd come out only a hundred years before. She'd only managed fifty pages so far and what long page they were. There was part of her that always hated not finishing a book though, that curiosity about how it ended, knowing it might have gotten better or still been a colossal waste of time. So speaking, it wasn't often she sent one to the pile of never to be finished , but this one was damned close.
She was wiggling it in her palm, yawning, and turning to chapter five when the knock vibrated on her door. Vistor or package? though it was Sunday and even in Aequorea, she'd noticed, packages were slow, if non-existent.
Slipping her book mark into it, she tossed it on the table and headed straight to the door, opening it with a wide, girthy smile when she saw who was on the other side. She was about due for a Teddy fix, a few sweet kisses and hugs to ease her boring Sunday, but it only took a moment to see that something wasn't right.
A red tint lined his brilliant eyes. The vibrancy had faded. It was easy to tell what heartache looked like and what was painted on his face was it.
"Teddy, what's wrong?" Rose questioned. Concern covered her face, twisting her lips with thought. Without asking, she swept him into her arms and tightened around him. "Are you okay?"
