Severus looked upon the pinched face of Minerva McGonagall. If her expression was any indication, something was dreadfully wrong.
"What is it, Minerva?" Severus asked.
"I'm sorry to disturb you, Severus and--Mr. Potter."
"Oh, it seems we lost track of the time. We were going over our plan of attack for getting rid of the curse on the Defence Against the Dark Arts position," Severus tried to explain.
"Of course," Minerva replied with a knowing look.
"Is there a problem?" Harry asked.
"I have just received an urgent Fire-call from Miss Granger. She and Hagrid can't Apparate in the snowstorm, so they will be spending the night in Connemara'. She said they would try to return to the castle at first light, if the storm was over."
"I see," Severus said gravely, hiding his inner glee as best he could. Secretly, Severus hoped that they would never return with an antidote. "I am sorry you had to come all the way down here to deliver the message. You should have just Fire-called."
"I tried," Minerva said with a smirk, "but I didn't get an answer. Good night, gentlemen, do carry on."
"Thank you for telling us. Good night, Minerva."
"Good night, Professor," Harry added.
Severus shut the door and turned to glare at Harry.
"What's wrong now?"
"She knows what we were doing."
"So what, Severus, we're both adults. I don't regret it, and if you're up for it, we can do it again," Harry said grinning.
"You're insatiable," Severus grumbled halfheartedly as he grabbed Harry by the hand and led him back to bed.

"Finally," Hermione sighed as they approached the gates of Hogwarts. "I was beginning to think we would be stuck in Connemara' forever. Lucky for us, there was a break in the storm."
"Yep, that it was, but I'm not sure how lucky we'll be once we give Sev'rus the news. I still think you should make up an antidote and give it to Harry. Maybe then, Harry'd stop fooling around."
"I don't think Harry is fooling around, Hagrid. I believe he is serious."
"But I don't understand, Hermione. Why?"
"Time will tell, Hagrid, time will tell. Now let's get inside and find the Headmaster."
"Aye," Hagrid groaned mournfully. "We're all in for it now."

Just before dawn, Severus sent Harry back to his own room under vehement protest, but Severus insisted on showing at least some modicum of decorum. The walls had eyes and ears. Severus wanted to keep tongue wagging to a minimum. His reputation would be in the toilet. He'd taken advantage of a man under the influence of a love potion. Severus doubted that he would be allowed to remain as Headmaster of Hogwarts once word got out. In the end though, Severus figured that it had been worth it.

Severus stormed through the halls of Hogwarts, thunder raging in his eyes. Portraits fled their frames in terror as the Headmaster unsheathed his wand. Hagrid shouted after the angry wizard, but Hermione held him back.
"Leave them, Hagrid. Harry made his bed, now he has to lie in it," Hermione said smiling.
There was no knocking involved this time as Severus blasted the door to Harry's room off its hinges. Shards of splintered wood flew in all directions, and through the rising smoke, an irate Severus Snape appeared.
Harry stood in the centre of the room, arms folded over his chest, smiling serenely.
"You certainly know how to make a grand entrance, Severus," Harry said teasingly.
Severus growled dangerously low. "There is no love potion in The Candy Canes of Connemara'!"
"I tried to tell you that, Severus, but you refused to listen."
"You played me for a fool, Potter. I want you out of Hogwarts now! Severus shouted.
"Please, Severus, I did try to explain, but I'm not always good with words. I care for you very much, but I was afraid that my feelings wouldn't be reciprocated. When I received the candy cane, well, it bolstered my famed Gryffindor courage and I acted without thinking things through. I realize that I just should have told you how I felt, but damn it, you're not always the easiest person to have a conversation with. When you arrived at my door asking for help, my brain shut down and my heart took over. I don't know what else to say, Severus."
"I don't like games, Potter. How was I supposed to know that you weren't really under the influence of a love potion?"
Harry laughed. "Your first clue should've been obvious. What candy makers would put an actual love potion in their products? They'd be out of business before they ever got started. Secondly, I could've never given you the key to my heart if I wasn't sincere," Harry said as he took several steps forward.
Severus huffed, anger still lingering in his eyes, but nevertheless, dissipating somewhat the longer Harry spoke.
Inches from his face now, Harry reached up and stroked Severus cheek. "I want to know you, Severus. I want to be with you, and after last night, I think you want that too."
Severus' wand dropped to the floor as their lips met in a searing kiss.
"Aye, now, that is unexpected," Hagrid whispered as he stood gobsmacked in the arch of the ruined doorway.
"I told you things would work out. Now let's give them some privacy, shall we?" Hermione said giggling softly as she dragged the half giant away.

Christmas morning, Severus went to make tea while Harry added a few last minute touches to the Christmas décor.
Severus stopped in his tracks, sitting down the tray of tea and scones, as he watched Harry stuff his stocking full of The Candy Canes of Connemara'.
Just what do you propose I should do with those, whelp?" Severus drawled.
Harry smirked. "I'm sure you'll find an inventive use for them, love."
Severus smirked in return. "Yes, I'm sure I will."
