Vedette sat down in the free chair and picked up a handful of small blueberries. She preferred them with ice still clinging to them, but didn't bother to try to do that to them herself. She just put one in her mouth and chewed slowly. He was right of course, on both accounts. The innkeeper and her knight had avoided answering any real question, and of course they did need to leave before nightfall. She just wondered how many people, if there were any in this town at all, that came out in the daytime. She put another berry in her mouth and closed her eyes for a moment.
At least the weather was fair and it was not hot. She could use a bit of cold sunshine, but she wondered how far the other dragons would be by now. Was that still what they were looking for, or was there something else in this town that they'd find.. more disturbing than dragons who ate men? Who hunted men? She hoped there was nothing else. But she could not be sure just yet. Not yet. Not without asking around.
"I just hope no one expects me to play them a song." There she smiled, he was sighing and sounding grim. But after last night she could not be too serious for very long. She finished off the blueberries and began on a fresh strawberry from the plate. It was nice and cold and juicy, so much so it almost crunched when she bit into it.
"Lets hope that if we do find some information that we can convince her to let us stay another night or two. I wouldn't want to leave if it was.. serious."
But packing would not be difficult, they could do it before leaving unless he meant to carry all his things around with him today. As she recalled some of it was a bit heavy. Or maybe that was the wine. Either way. She didn't want to drag her pack around with her everywhere.
