let me know if all this jives with browsofpow!
Player name: Lissa
Character name: Isaiah Hallward Age: 33 Profession: Restaurateur (how fancy!), part-time cook, part-time waiter, part-time everything (working at Ruby's doesn't pay well, so there's a high turnover rate for employees, which generally means he steps in for whatever position is lacking in bodies).
Power, if applicable: Adoptive Muscle Memory/Photographic Reflexes. If Izzy sees someone perform a task, he can automatically mimic them perfectly. Generally, he forgets most of the muscle patterns a few hours later, but if he uses a skill enough times, his body will retain it. This power only works if a) the task he observes is performed by a human with all the necessary body parts in full view, with no outside assistance, and b) if he witnesses the whole process. He can't count the number of times he's had to get his son to bring the car around to take him to the hospital because he tried something he saw in a movie, unable to recognize that the stunt was performed by a CGI double of the actor, or that the stunt only looked believable because of the way the film was edited.
Where do they live?: Moderately sized one story house (3 bedrooms, 2 bath, kitchen, living room, basement, 1 car garage) on the outskirts of Victory. Not exactly located in the styx, but he's got enough room around their property to have a couple cows and a chicken coop.
There's also a room in the loft of Ruby's that's got a small closet, a bed and a sink. Now that KID A is old enough to make sure KID B gets a lunch and gets on the school bus, Izzy might crash there every once in a while.
Personality: Izzy isn't an overly complicated guy. His life has been overly complicated, he's experienced that, now he just wants to coast through the rest of his days. Taking out a loan and opening his own restaurant is the most ambitious endeavor Izzy can imagine; it's no wonder his ex-wife often ragged on him for having "no vision, no get up and go!" So long as his family is safe and comfortable, Izzy is a pretty contented guy. Linking his sense of self and personal worth on the happiness of those around him has bitten him in the ass a number of times, but he can't escape the fact that he'll always come second in his world. Whether he's ultimately being selfish, making others happy to make himself happy, or avoiding the issue of his own happiness altogether by focusing on his family, well, thinking too much about that's just a headache waiting to happen. Izzy accepts his natural tendencies and rolls with them.
Related, Izzy is the type to accept and not question. He can accept any part of himself, any part of his children or ex-wife. That doesn't mean he understands, it just means that he won't attack it. This leaves him in the dark about 90% of the time as to what's really going on with anyone (including himself) and so Izzy often says the wrong thing. He never hurts someone's feelings on purpose; he can't recall even picking a fight as a kid. But sometimes he sticks his foot in his mouth, and what can he do to convince whoever he's upset that he made his comment innocently enough but apologize profusely? And maybe bake them a cake.
...it's a wonder his children aren't 300 pounds a piece...
